About Me
I'm Uthpala Perera, a Data Science undergraduate at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Colombo — ranked 3rd out of 47 students with a GPA of 3.88. My work spans machine learning, NLP, LLMs, and business intelligence.
I'm driven by the full pipeline — from raw data ingestion to deployed, decision-ready tools. I've published research at the KDU International Research Conference 2025 on survival analysis in stem cell transplantation, and hold a Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals certification.
Beyond the technical work, I serve as Editor of the AI and Data Science Club at KDU — leading content, workshops, and community initiatives. I believe the best data work is invisible: a model that runs seamlessly, an insight that changes a decision for the better.
